OK, so you’re interested in learning what’s involved to get started with our professional grade taxi dispatch system. Here is a brief overview of what’s involved with proceeding and how the implementation process works:
A Few Things To Think About:
Rent or Purchase? Taxi Commander Professional can be rented on a per vehicle, per month basis or it can be purchased outright. Its your choice. You could start our renting, then when you are comfortable with our product quality, system reliability and support, migrate to a purchase. If you do decide to purchase, we will internally finance Taxi Commander for you over a couple of years to ease the pain, however we will ask for 25% of the software plus the system setup fees in advance. Renting reduces risk and out-of-pocket costs, whereas purchasing costs less over a long period. Its kind of a philosophical question.
Your Cloud or Ours? Regardless of what you choose, you will still benefit from cloud-based technology. That is, a zero footprint installation on your employees workstations (nothing to install) and the ability to use Taxi Commander from any web browser, etc. One benefit to installing Taxi Commander on your own cloud at your local facility is that if your internet fails, the only thing you’ll lose is your wireless dispatch. You’ll still have the ability to see your existing orders, create new ones, do your billing, etc. Secondly, all your data will be at your place and you’ll be in charge of your own security -if that appeals to you. Generally, larger fleets over 200 vehicles may prefer their own cloud, as they gain a little more control. Smaller fleets may prefer our cloud, so they don’t have to worry about buying or maintaining a server and they can keep their IT costs low. Something to think about. Special Needs? The fact that you’re interested in our Professional dispatch system implies that your an experienced fleet operator. That is, your business has acquired some corporate accounts and may be servicing some specialized business, such as non-emergency medical transport or other corporate transportation work. If this is the case, make a list of any special needs that can help you service your clients better, such as automated trip importing, trip route insertion, multi-fleet requirements, etc.
Next Steps To Getting Started:
If you’ve decided that you want to proceed with a system, but now its down to choosing which system to go with, here are a couple of considerations. Before you start to look at system demos or system prices, make two lists.
The first should be a list that ranks what factors are the most important to you. Some of the things on this list might be: system reliability, system capability, initial system risk, flexibility, performance, ease of use, scalability and cost. Put this list and other important factors into the order of priority to suit your business. This will help you ultimately make the right decision.
The second list should be a list of capabilities that you require, in order of importance. These are features that you require. Such as certain trip pricing methods, the type of auto dispatch you prefer, driver and vehicle attributes, the type of in-vehicle devices you require, any specific needs your corporate clients have -such as unique invoicing or billing needs, driver cashiering requirements, passenger app needs, etc. Put this list into a matrix so that you can easily rank one system against another in each area of importance.
Once you’ve put these lists together or have a good vision of what factors are most important to your business, then its time for us to communicate. There are 3 avenues open for us to take this next step:
You can call us -just click on the telephone icon on the screen.
You can send us a system design and quote request by clicking here.
We’re happy, regardless of which step you take! However, our preference would be that step 3 occurs first because this “Do It Yourself Needs Analysis” provides us with some very valuable insight into not only your business needs, but gives us a bit of feel for your corporate state of mind as well. By taking this 10 minute exercise, we’ll be positioned to produce a system design and quotation, as well as set up a system demo.
We look forward to hearing from you one way or the other!
